ENGAGEMENT
Engagement Objectives
The planning and conceptual design of the Atlanta RiverLands and the Chattahoochee Brick Company Memorial, Greenspace, and Park represent an unprecedented opportunity for community connection, restoration, and shared visioning. Together, these efforts will shape a more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful Chattahoochee River waterfront that reflects the priorities, histories, and aspirations of the communities that live along it.
The success of this combined project depends on the participation of a broad and diverse coalition of community members and stakeholder groups. These include descendants of those forced to labor at the brick company, local residents, Indigenous communities, historians, educators, environmental justice leaders, recreational users, trail advocates, mobility experts, and civic agencies.
While the work will result in a clear set of deliverables organized around the physical space, the social richness and complexity of this project suggest the greatest design challenge is to forge a welcoming, transparent, and equitable process that brings distinct voices together toward a common vision over the next 13 months.
