The Department of City Planning (DCP)is managing the project on behalf of the City of Atlanta (CoA). Its mission is to enable high-quality, sustainable, and equitable growth and development within Atlanta by facilitating more options for transit, quality housing for all residents, thriving neighborhoods, exceptional design in architecture and public spaces, preservation of historic resources, innovative regulatory practices, safe and durable buildings, and public engagement. Other City departments involved include the Department of Parks & Recreation, Department of Watershed Management, Department of Public Works, and the Atlanta Department of Transportation. Partial funding for the Atlanta RiverLands planning and design is provided by the City of Atlanta. The City of Atlanta provides funding for the Chattahoochee Brick Company Site planning and design.

The core team also includes MASS Design Group’s Public Memory and Memorials Lab (Memorial Designer and Architect), an international leader in justice-centered design and public memory, and Toole Design (Trail Planning Lead), a national expert in multimodal mobility and greenway design.

New South Associates and Jones Archaeology Consulting are supporting archaeology and historical research.

Chrysalis Lab is advancing community engagement, with support from Jones Archaeology Consulting, Black Ecology/Dr. Na'Taki Osborne Jelks and Peymac Consulting
